Law Internships in India: Latest Opportunities, Eligibility & Application Links
Last Updated: 11 August 2026
Looking for law internships in India?
This page brings together selected internship programmes for LL.B. students, LL.M. students and other eligible law students, including opportunities with government institutions, regulatory bodies, courts, legal-services authorities, law firms and research organisations.
Important: A Programme Existing Does Not Mean Applications Are Open
An internship programme may continue to exist even when its current application window has closed or has not yet been announced.
Therefore, we use the following status system:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🟢 Application Open | A current application window has been verified |
| 🟡 Upcoming | A future application window has been officially announced |
| 🔵 Recurring / Rolling | The programme operates regularly; check the current intake or available slots |
| ⚪ Programme Exists — Check Current Window | The programme is official, but a current application window could not be confirmed |
| 🔴 Closed | The relevant application window has ended |
Always check the official source before applying. Dates, eligibility, available slots and application procedures may change.
Current & Recurring Law Internships in India

Important: At the time of this update, the research did not establish a fixed-window government/regulatory internship that can safely be labelled “Application Open Today.”
1. SEBI Legal Internship
Organisation: Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)
Area: Securities law, corporate law and financial regulation
Who can apply?
The official SEBI framework identifies eligibility including:
- Students in the 2nd/3rd year of a 3-year LL.B.
- Students in the 4th/5th year of a 5-year LL.B.
- Students from a BCI-recognised institution
- Academic requirements prescribed by SEBI
Check the current official application page for the complete eligibility requirements before applying.
Application schedule
SEBI’s internship mechanism operates on a recurring monthly basis.
Applications are ordinarily submitted during:
1–7 of each month → for the following month’s internship.
Therefore:
🔵 Recurring — not necessarily open today
For example, if the monthly window has already passed, students should wait for the next application window rather than assuming that the programme is continuously open.
Mode
Office-based / in-person.
Do not treat this as a remote internship.

2. ALG India Law Offices LLP Internship
Organisation: ALG India Law Offices LLP
Primary area: Intellectual Property Law
ALG offers internships for students enrolled in full-time BCI-accredited law programmes.
The programme includes different categories, including:
- Pre-final-year internship
- Final-year regular internship
- Final-year follow-on internship
The Patent Internship has additional eligibility requirements relating to a science degree or patent-agent status.
Duration
One calendar month.
Location
New Delhi — in-person.
Application
ALG’s application process allows applicants to select from available future internship months. Availability depends on the slots shown by the firm.
Therefore:
🔵 Rolling / Subject to Available Slots
This should not be presented as “Open Today” unless an available month is actually confirmed in the application form.
Payment
Do not assume that all ALG internships are paid.
According to the official information reviewed:
- Pre-final-year internship — unpaid
- Final-year regular internship — unpaid
- Certain final-year follow-on assessment internships — ₹12,500, where applicable
The ₹12,500 amount should not be presented as the stipend for every ALG intern.
Apply through ALG’s Official Internship Page
3. Supreme Court of India — Centre for Research & Planning Internship
Organisation: Supreme Court of India
Programme: Centre for Research & Planning Internship
Important date clarification
The official Supreme Court CRP page currently lists the Internship Scheme dated 22 January 2024.
An old programme date does not automatically mean that the programme has expired.
However:
2024 scheme listed online ≠ applications open in 2026.
The current official page does not establish a current 2026 application window.
Therefore, the correct status is:
⚪ Programme Exists — Current Intake Not Confirmed
Students should not be shown an “Apply Now” button implying that applications are definitely open.
Best way to use this listing
View the Official Supreme Court CRP Internship Scheme
Check the official page for the current intake before applying.
4. Law Commission of India — Voluntary Internship Scheme
Organisation: Law Commission of India
Area: Legal research, law reform and policy
Important date clarification
The Law Commission’s internship scheme is an excellent example of why notice date and current application status must be kept separate.
The scheme is officially listed and remains within its stated programme period. However, the fact that the scheme was issued earlier does not automatically mean applications are open today.
Therefore:
⚪ Programme Exists — Current Window Not Confirmed
Who should consider it?
It can be particularly relevant for students interested in:
- Legal research
- Law reform
- Legislative analysis
- Public policy
- Constitutional and statutory research

5. NALSA Internship Programme 2026
Organisation: National Legal Services Authority (NALSA)
NALSA has an official Internship Programme 2026 page and application material.
However, the currently accessible official information does not establish a current application deadline/window clearly enough to call it “Open Today.”

Students should read the official programme document before applying.
6. Competition Commission of India — Internship Programme
Organisation: Competition Commission of India (CCI)
CCI offers an internship programme relevant to students interested in:
- Competition law
- Economic regulation
- Market regulation
- Legal research
- Competition-policy issues
The official CCI programme exists, but the current research did not establish a specific August 2026 application window.

7. Ministry of External Affairs — International Law Internship
Organisation: Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)
Area: International law and related legal work
The MEA has an official International Law Internship programme.
The programme provides for a ₹10,000 monthly honorarium and limited travel support under the stated scheme.
However, the current research did not establish a currently open 2026 application window.
Status
⚪ Programme Exists — Current Window Not Confirmed
Therefore, it should not be advertised as:
“MEA Internship — Apply Now”
unless a new official application window is confirmed.

8. S&R Associates Internship
Organisation: S&R Associates
The firm’s official internship page provides an internship application mechanism.
The eligibility identified in the research includes:
- 3rd–5th year students of a five-year law course
- 2nd–3rd year students of a three-year law course
However, the currently accessible information does not establish a specific current slot or intake date.

Government & Regulatory Law Internships
Government and regulatory internships can be particularly useful for students interested in:
- Public law
- Constitutional law
- Legal research
- Law reform
- Regulation
- Compliance
- Financial law
- Competition law
- Public policy
- Legal aid
Important programmes to monitor include:
- Law Commission of India
- SEBI
- Supreme Court CRP
- NALSA
- CCI
- MEA
- Department of Legal Affairs
But remember
Government programme exists ≠ Government internship open today.
Always check the current application window.
Recently Closed Internships
Completed opportunities should not remain in the live “Apply” list.
They may be retained separately as an archive or removed from the page.
| Organisation | 2026 Opportunity | Status |
|---|---|---|
| TRAI | Internship 2026–27 | 🔴 Closed — deadline was 20 April 2026 |
| U.P. State Legal Services Authority | Summer Internship 2026 | 🔴 Closed — programme ran 1–30 June 2026 |
| NHRC | Summer Internship 2026 | 🔴 Closed — programme began 1 June 2026 |
| NHRC | Online Short-Term Internship 2026 | 🔴 Closed — programme began 3 August 2026 |
These should not be presented as current opportunities.
Remote Law Internships
Are remote law internships available?
Some organisations may offer remote or hybrid internships, but we will list an internship as Remote only when the official organisation explicitly confirms it.
An online application form does not make an internship remote.
Similarly, an organisation working in AI or technology does not automatically mean that its internship is work-from-home.
Current verified position
The principal programmes reviewed for this page are predominantly in-person or office-based, or their mode is not clearly specified.
Therefore, we will not fill this section with unverified remote opportunities simply to increase the number of listings.
Remote internship listings will be added only after the official source confirms the mode.
Paid Law Internships
Not every law internship is paid.
Never assume a stipend because an organisation is prestigious.
| Programme | Payment Information |
|---|---|
| SEBI | Follow the current official internship framework |
| ALG | Most regular internships unpaid; specified final-year follow-on assessment internship may carry ₹12,500 |
| MEA International Law Internship | ₹10,000/month honorarium under the programme |
| Supreme Court CRP | Do not assume payment unless the current official scheme states it |
| Law Commission | No remuneration stated in the relevant scheme information |
| NALSA / CCI | Check the current official programme document |
The exact payment conditions may differ by programme and category.

How We Verify Internships
AspirixWriters follows an official-source-first approach.
We check:
1. Does the internship programme actually exist?
↓
2. Is there a current application window?
↓
3. Who is eligible?
↓
4. What is the deadline?
↓
5. Is it remote, hybrid or in-person?
↓
6. Is it paid?
↓
7. Where is the official application?
Only then is the opportunity assigned an appropriate status.
Third-party websites
Platforms such as LinkedIn, Internshala, Lawctopus, LawBhoomi and other aggregators can help discover internships.
However, where an official source is available, the official source is used for final verification.
Before You Apply: Quick Checklist
Before submitting your application:
☐ Check your eligibility
☐ Check the current application window
☐ Check the deadline
☐ Check whether the internship is paid
☐ Check the mode — remote/hybrid/in-person
☐ Read the official notification
☐ Use the official application link
☐ Save a copy of your application
Most importantly:
Do not assume that an old internship notice means applications are open today.

SEBI has a recurring monthly application mechanism, but that does not mean applications are open every day. Check the official monthly application window.
Are law internships paid?

Are remote law internships available?
Some may be available, but AspirixWriters will list a programme as remote only when its official source confirms that mode.
Can first-year law students apply?
Some internships accept early-year students, but many institutional internships require students to have completed a specified number of years/semesters.
Can LL.M. students apply?

How This Page Is Maintained
This is an evergreen Law Internship Hub.
We periodically check for:
- New internship programmes
- New application windows
- Changed deadlines
- Changed eligibility
- Changed stipend information
- Changed location/mode
- Expired opportunities
- Broken application links
Our rule
A programme will not be labelled “Application Open” simply because an old official notice or programme page is still available.
Completed opportunities are removed from the live section or moved to an archive.
Last verified: 11 August 2026
Because application windows can change, always perform a final check on the official organisation’s website before applying.
